Meet Team Hoi Polloi

J.C.

“Thinks improv would be better scripted”

J.C. is a multi-talented multi-tasker, who applies his athletic background to his day to work and his improv. He enjoys building with other players and taking the scene in interesting directions, whichever direction it goes in it will be funny. His side hustle is recording and selling EVPs to haunted house owner wannabes.

Fidel

“Certified Tree Hugger”

Fidel is the Latin one bringing his Ecuadorian, and secretly Swedish (wait, what?) style to our group. When he isn’t at rehearsals or shows, he’s probably working on forest biodiversity stuff that we’re still trying to understand, or participating in his (other) cult hobby, which according to him, is an actual sport.

Neera

“Who needs Reality?”

Neera almost made it in Bollywood until an undisclosed scandal brought her to Switzerland BSG (Before Spice Girls). Nowadays she watches Bollywood from afar when she isn’t teaching English and loves improv as it’s a space where she can abandon her cultural and professional appropriacy and embrace a quirky Improv- Avatar.

Laura

“Never boring, always weird”

Laura is a Zurich local and started improv to get better at Dungeons and Dragons (DnD). Unfortunately, she is using her new found improv skills for evil and is now even less prepared for DnD sessions (and in general).

Don’t be like Laura, use improv for good not for evil.

Maria

“Your dreams make the world”

Maria speaks French but is not from France. She needs improv in her life because it is the only time when she can actually interact with dragons. However, she mainly loves improv because it works well with her brain.

Ritish

“Improve my Improv till I’m pro.”

Inspiration Hides Everywhere And Realizing That Is Magical: Play Reactively Or Vervently.

To Ritish, improv is a fun way to learn more about yourself; discover what choices you make in the moment, learn how your mind makes associations and find out what stories you enjoy.

Ariel

“Improv comedy is like magic. Both pull laughs and gasps out of thin air, making the impossible feel real”

Ariel is an ex-mermaid turned chaos coordinator. Ditched the fins for Wi-Fi, now I’m drowning in emails instead of seas. Expert at juggling puns and existential crises!

Mimi

Perfection

Improv theater is a serious play. Don’t take it too seriously. Just play. Seriously.

Roses are red,
violets are blue.
I’m really good at rhyming,
believe me.

Ros

“Woooooom…!”

Ros started improvising by accident with a good friend.
The good friend is still doing fine, luckily.

For him, improv is another excuse not to plan stuff and figure it out.

Oh, and he loves imitating sounds to add that twist to the scene.
Didn’t you hear..?

Erfan

“…”

Erfan, once planned to tattoo this Omar Khayyam poem, but he hasn’t ..
Khayyam, if drunk with wine you find delight, be glad.
If with a moon-bright face you sit aright, be glad.
Since the world’s final reckoning is naught,
Deem yourself naught; while being, know delight.

Florence

Florence needs to write this blurb about herself still. Here’s some filler text: Etiam placerat velit vitae dui blandit sollicitudin. Vestibulum tincidunt sed dolor sit amet volutpat. Nullam egestas sem at mollis sodales. Nunc eget lacinia eros, ut tincidunt nunc. Quisque volutpat, enim id volutpat interdum, purus odio euismod neque.
